Bar No. 5, Alexandria

Bar No. 5 is just hip. Just cool. And very Inner West, from the warehouse conversion to the little fire out front (The Potting Shed-esque?). Add to that the live music on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 5pm and the accompanying happy hour deal of $1.50 an oyster, $1 a chicken wing, and you’ve found my new favourite spot for a lazy Sunday.

I would give Bar No. 5 points for the atmosphere and service. However, this is a food blog and if I am honest, the food was average – there was nothing amazing about the oysters or the chicken wings (in fact, my grievance would be that the Spicy wings were nowhere near spicy such that even my partner who sweats if he eats a jalapeno could also enjoy them). Yet would I happily go back another Sunday? Absolutely.

They also have a breakfast menu that sounds delicious – I’ll make sure to post a review when I have been!
